Altitude adjustment

Boulder County is west of Denver and sits at 5,430 feet above sea level. Greystone Castle sits at 7,200 feet above sea level. Altitude can be an issue! Here is some information and advice on having a wonderful wedding weekend with us.

TIPS + TRiCKS

DRINK WATER! - Before your trip to Colorado, and while you are here, drinking plenty of water is the number one way to help your body adjust easily to our higher altitude. The low humidity in Colorado keeps the air dry, like the desert, so you need about twice as much water here as you would drink at home!

Monitor Your Alcohol Intake - In Colorado's rarified air, golf balls go ten percent farther… and so do cocktails. Alcoholic drinks pack more of a punch than at sea level. It is recommended that you go easy on the alcohol in the mountains and in Boulder, as its effects will feel stronger here.

Chautauqua Baseline trail

Chautauqua Park provides hikers with access to Open Space Mountain Park trails, with several trails and different levels of difficulty, all of which provide iconic views of the Flatirons.
